Finding a Place for All of Me: Why Intersectional Therapy Matters
In this piece, I share my journey as a brown, Muslim woman navigating university life in England, where cultural isolation and unfamiliarity often left me feeling unseen. Although my friends and therapist were supportive, they couldn't fully understand the complexity of my experiences. Traditional therapy couldn’t bridge the cultural gap I faced, making me realise the importance of intersectional therapy, which considers overlapping identities. This kind of therapy could have offered a more meaningful connection, addressing the full reality of who I am.
